Leona LaurenLeona Louise Lewis, born 3 April 1985, is an actress, singer, and activist of British origin. Born and raised in the London Borough of Islington, she was a student at in the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Lewis achieved national recognition in the final season of The X Factor in 2006 she was awarded an PS1 million recording deal in partnership with Syco Music. The winning single, which was an original cover of Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" reached number one for 4 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke records in the world by achieving 50k digital downloads in 30 minutes. In February 2007, Lewis has signed a deal for five albums with the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. Lewis maintained her popularity with Spirit, her first studio album. It sold 10x platinum certified in the UK. Spirit became one of the top four albums sold in 2000s, and also among the most-sold UK albums. Spirit, according to Official Charts Company is the greatest-selling debut album of a female artist. Its single "Bleeding Love" continued to be in the top spot of the UK charts for seven consecutive weeks before becoming the top-selling single of 2007. The song was also the highest-selling track in the US during the same time. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award the subsequent year. Echo was her sophomore studio album. The album also featured the track "I I See You" for Avatar. Lewis's track "Collide," was a collaboration between Swedish DJ Avicii and she also released Hurt The EP, her first play that was extended. Glassheart (2012) was Lewis' 3rd studio album. The album was Lewis the first time she tried electronic music , dubstep, and electronic music. When she was on the Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began the process of recording for her first Christmas album. The Christmas, With Love came out in the latter half of 2013. The album's first single One More Sleep was a top 3 hit across the UK. Lewis is one of the few British female solo artist was the first artist to make it into the top 5 with eight songs. This is more than Olivia Newton John's record which was seven.
