Antonia Lofaso
Antonia's food provides a way to explore her life. Curiosity grew in her after she moved from for the Long Island suburbs to explore the diverse culture of Los Angeles. Cavatelli, carnitas, and other dishes can all coexist within a menu. This is a constantly shifting taste. But what remains throughout her menu is an unifying vision of the future while achingly recollecting the previous. Scopa Italian Roots opened its doors in the year 2013 and quickly became popular. The interpretation that Lofaso has given to old-school Italian is hailed for being among the best places to enjoy Italian cooking in Los Angeles. The restaurant serves delicious and consistent meals at Scopa which is a favorite of the neighborhood. The patrons call it authentic and satiating. Lofaso studied from chefs who used sophisticated techniques. She did not fear taking extraordinary risks in order to respect her own instincts. She soon rose to the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago after which she went into working closely with celebs in several Los Angeles kitchens. Lofaso worked with Sal Aurora to create Black Market Liquor Bar, an upscale bar located situated in Studio City. She was able to secure a place in Black Market as well as the partnerships she established. This collaboration would foster the freedom of expression Lofaso longed for. Black Market doesn't have one distinct direction. It's their goal. It would start by serving dill-flavored chips on potato Shishito peppers, then continue with Korean wings. Antonia's vibrant flavors are the foundation of these bold combination. Lofaso's success has been measured by her capacity to stay authentic to her own taste while knowing her viewers. She's appeared on of a variety of television shows such as Top Chef Chicago, Top Chef: All Stars and Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child on The Food Network and ABC's Real O'neals. Her talents are still being showcased as a judge for CNBC's Restaurant Startup. Lofaso released The Busy Mother's Cookbook: 100 Quick and Delicious Recipes, in 2012, along with Penguin. The book also tells the tale of her struggles during her time in her school, the French Culinary Institute. She also raised her daughter Xea, as well. Lofaso says that her passion for cooking is the driving force behind her achievements. She stays at the forefront of her field by keeping a close eye on trends and fashion.
